Niagara welcomes new committee chairs: Over the Holiday Season, Vanessa Martell was jointly appointed as new Women's Track & Field Chair to fill the vacancy left when Marsha Horan stepped down because of time required to serve in her position with USATF Women's Track & Field Committee. Vanessa has served as Co-Chair and brings her coaching and athlete experience to the position. Christine Klien was also jointly appointed as new Master's LDR Chair replacing Carolyn Kriesen. Carolyn explained that she too many demands on her time and would not be able to serve Niagara appropriately. Christine is a long time distance runner and practicing massage therapist. New association officers were elected by a record turn out of members on September 13th at our 2009 Annual Meeting of USATF Niagara Association held at St. John of Rochester Church in Fairport. Association Secretary/Treasurer Kevin P. Lucas of Fairport was elected by a wide majority vote as President for the 2010-2012 Term, Jim Glinsky of Pittsford and Eric Boyce of Bergen were chosen as Vice Presidents, Carolyn Kriesen of Webster became Secretary, and Joni Lucas, CPA of Fairport, as Treasurer.  Also at our Annual Meeting, Officials Chair Jim Glinsky awarded Chuck Von Holtz of Sterling, Kathy McLymond of Williamson, and Perry Jenkins of Cheektowaga the 2009 National Outstanding Official Award for their work as officials within the Niagara Association and at national track & field meets across the country. Niagara is proud to have such dedicated officials. Outgoing President Russ Ebbets of Union Springs awarded association Secretary/Treasurer and Clubs/Sanctions Chair Kevin P. Lucas and Jim Glinsky Officials/Membership Chair each a 2009 Volunteer of the Year Award. Jim was thanked for his tireless efforts in processing individual membership requests, maintaining website memberships, and heading up Niagara's Officials Trainings, Meet Recruitment, and Certification Processing. Kevin received his award for juggling both the Secretary and Treasurer's positions while coordinating Event Sanction requests and Club renewals. Officers 2010-2012 Term  President: Kevin P.
