Winners of the 2013 Annual Awards of the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame Announced

Rochester, NY: The Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame of Fame proudly presented its inaugural set of new annual awards at our annual awards banquet held at the RIT Inn & Conference Center in Rochester, NY on Saturday, 07 September 2013. These awards recognize performances and accomplishments made during the 2012-2013 school year.

The 2013 Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame of Fame Annual Awards were presented in conjunction with the induction into the Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame of our Class of 2013 (Ivan C. Dresser, Cornell '19; Thomas F. Keane, coach at Syracuse University from 1906 to 1945;Shannon L Smith, Fairport HS 1996, Boston College 2000; and Leander J. "Lee" Talbott, Jr., Cornell and Penn State University).

The three finalists for each of these awards were outstanding performers during the 2012-2013 school year.  The very high quality of these finalists made the voting very close for these awards, with no winner being a unanimous selection.  The winner for some of these awards was determined only after the final vote was cast.  The online fan vote determined the winner for one of the eight awards.  While the three finalists for any one of these awards couldn’t all be selected as the winner, any of the finalists would have been a well-deserved winner.
